Banora Point

Virtually a suburb just south of Tweed Heads on the NSW-Queensland border, Banora Point huddles in the Tweed River estuary and supports a wide range of homes in both scrubbed and ordered surroundings. Step outside this suburban sanctuary, however, all around you’ll find the delights of a vacation mecca.

Just half an hour up the road is the bold and brassy Gold Coast. There are great beaches on both sides of the border, fishing and water sports, beach, river and estuary, and the famous club life of Tweed Heads and Coolangatta.

The Tweed coast is a 35km chain of largely unspoilt beaches which stretch south from the river mouth at Fingal to Wooyung, which lies just to the north of Ocean Shores and Brunswick Heads.  One of Banora Point's other great attributes is the fact that it's so close to the beautiful Tweed River Valley - with some of Australia's best rural scenery - and the equally-delightful Gold Coast hinterland.

Banora Point offers several schools including Banora Point Primary, St James Primary (Catholic), Centaur Primary, Banora Point High School and St James College (Catholic). A short distance west toward the elevated Terranora area is the private Lindisfarne Grammar Middle & Senior Campus.

Banora Point is the host to many sports clubs and activities from Soccer and golf to jogging and target practise. One of the best known is the community club, Club Banora by Twin Towns of Tweed Heads. Club Banora caters to all sporting and recreational needs, with an 18 hole championship golf course, six all weather tennis courts, four lawn bowls greens, an Olympic size swimming pool and children's leisure pool.  For the juniors there is Twin Towns Juniors; the youngest club in the Twin Towns group of properties. Twin Towns Juniors provides a venue specifically tailored for the local community with dining, lounges and grassed areas with shade sails.

Banora Point offers shopping, clubs, sports, walk ways, community services and easy access to everything the Tweed and Gold Coast boast to visiting holiday makers.
